If you hold a Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Veteran Card, now is a good time to check your postal address and contact details as the new-look cards begin rolling out from July 2026.
The card design is changing, but the way the card works is not. Your entitlements, eligibility and access to concessions remain unchanged.
Because replacement cards will be issued progressively, some Veteran Card holders may not receive their new card until around October. If your current card shows an expiry date before your replacement arrives, you can keep using your current card while the rollout is underway.
What you should do now
DVA is encouraging Veteran Card holders to check that their postal address and contact details are up to date.
The easiest way to do this is through MyService, DVA’s secure online portal.
You can access MyService by signing in through myGov and selecting MyService from your linked services.
Once logged in, you can review and update:
Keeping your details up to date will help ensure your replacement card and other important DVA correspondence reach you without unnecessary delay.
What is changing?
The look of the card is changing.
What is not changing?
Your entitlements, eligibility and access to concessions are not changing.
There are also no changes to the way veterans, providers or participating businesses use the card.
Can I still use my current card?
Yes. If your replacement card arrives after your current card’s expiry date, you can continue using your current Veteran Card while the rollout is underway.
Veterans should continue presenting their Veteran Card in the format accepted by participating providers.
