DFWA provides support, advice and advocacy services to all serving and retired members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and their dependants on any matter likely to affect their welfare during their service or upon retirement (including claims, pay conditions, compensation and veterans’ entitlements).

DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS’ AFFAIRS (DVA)

The DVA is an Australian Government agency that provides a range of support services and information to veterans and their dependants, war widows/widowers, Australian Defence Force personnel and members of the Australian Federal Police, relating to pensions, compensation, health care, rehabilitation, counselling, transition into civilian life, community grants, home care assistance and housing benefits.

DEPLOYED SOLDIERS WELFARE ASSOCIATION (DSWA)

The DSWA provides financial support, resources and opportunities to the families of soldiers who are deployed, by providing funding for social gatherings, resources to assist in maintaining contact with their loved ones, practical assistance to relieve the stresses on the family unit, (tutoring for worried children who are not coping as well as when their Dad is home), lawn mowing services and house cleaning, as many wives have full time jobs to maintain.

Legacy cares for the families of deceased and injured Australian Defence Force (ADF) members (widows, children and dependants with a disability) by providing support, programs, and services that enhance the lives and opportunities of these military families, despite their adversity and loss. It’s run and supported by volunteers, veterans and servicemen and women drawn from all walks of life.
